Decommissioning

The removal and processing of redundant offshore structures using best environmental practice is nothing new to this Company. Our workforce have been involved in many small scale waste management and refurbishment projects since the North Sea Oil and Gas Industry emerged in the 1970s. More recently we have been involved in recycling and processing materials arising from the Atlantic fields and as a contractor in the FRIGG decommissioning project.

We specialise in the onshore segregation and processing of piece small and piece medium packages including redundant sub-sea components.

From single baskets of pipework or structural steel through mixed loads of metallic and non-metallic wastes to the sustained support of large scale decommissioning campaigns we are equipped to provide an excellent service, reduce your costs and maximise recovery rates.

Utilising two SEPA approved quayside processing areas at Greenhead Base and Dales Voe in Lerwick we can rapidly size-reduce depolluted structures and pipework for short road transport to our fully licensed processing, segregation and storage facility located between the two quayside load-in points.

Working with onshore partners we successfully segregated, processed and recovered over 7,000 tonnes of material from the FRIGG project between 2006 and 2009 without a single lost time injury or environmental incident.

We can offer to purchase your recovered material or use our established industry contacts to negotiate and secure best rates for the sale, load-out and shipping of your recovered material on your behalf.

If you require specialised processing and segregation services or wish to explore how we can add value to your project contact Ian Kinniburgh our Managing Director on +44 (0) 7747 023345 or e-mail ian@60northrecycling.co.uk
